ABOUT THE CLIENT

A Portuguese multinational operating at industrial scale across four continents

Logoplaste is a global leader in rigid plastic packaging, operating an in-house manufacturing model, meaning its factories are located directly inside its clients’ industrial facilities. This unique approach drives operational efficiency and sustainability but also creates a formidable challenge: maintaining consistency across a network that spans Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Vietnam, and beyond. With over 70 factories worldwide and a model built on growing alongside its clients, Logoplaste needed its internal operations, especially quality, compliance, and documentation, to scale just as seamlessly as its business.

THE CHALLENGE

Each factory was reinventing the wheel. That was slowing everything down

Because Logoplaste factories operate embedded within client sites, each unit had its own way of running audits, managing corrective actions, and storing information that were local or recorded differently. When a new factory opened, it started from scratch. The absence of a shared digital foundation meant quality processes were local or recorded differently. For a company whose competitive advantage is delivering consistent, high-quality packaging at scale, this fragmentation carried real risk.

Key pain points included:

  • No templates reusable across factories
  • Non-conformities tracked locally, with no common framework
  • Operational documents scattered across local systems with no version control or approval workflow
  • New factories ramped up without inheriting best practices from the wider network
  • No consolidated view of quality and compliance KPIs at global or regional level
  • Each factory adapting processes independently, creating significant variation and compliance risk

Each factory was reinventing the wheel. The GMS set the foundation for standardizing every process and enabling faster, more sustainable growth, factory by factory, all running in a standard framework”.

THE SOLUTION

A Global Management System built on Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint

Logoplaste and Devscope designed and developed the GMS (Global Management System), a centralised digital platform built on Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint, with three interconnected modules covering the full quality management lifecycle.

01. Audits & Inspections Module

Customizable audit templates, including Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000 standards. These are created once and reused across all factories. Automated scheduling generate inspection agendas for each user, and audit reports are created digitally within the platform.

02. CAPA Module (Corrective & Preventive Actions)

Non-conformities identified in claims or continuous improvement automatically trigger a structured CAPA workflow. The module guides teams through root cause analysis, action plan definition, task assignment, effectiveness evaluation, and formal closure, ensuring every issue is resolved systematically.

03. Document Library Module

A centralised repository for work instructions, procedures, policies, and operational records, where each document type has a defined approval flow and version history, ensuring factory teams only see content relevant to their unit, while global administrators maintain full visibility.

System Integrations

The GMS is fully integrated with SAP and PeoplePoint, Logoplaste’s core ERP, enabling automatic synchronisation of users, factories, equipment, customers, and suppliers. Access rights and content segmentation are assigned automatically, so every factory team sees exactly what is relevant to them, with no manual configuration required at onboarding.

HOW WE WORKED TOGETHER

Iterative delivery that kept the project on track, even through a pandemic

One of the key concerns at the outset was project delivery risk. Digital transformation projects of this scale frequently overrun in time and scope. DevScope addressed this by adopting an MVP-driven delivery model, releasing working modules progressively so Logoplaste could validate, adopt, and build confidence in the platform before full rollout.

This approach proved essential during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the entire collaboration moved fully remote. Despite the geographic distance between the teams, DevScope based in Porto and Logoplaste headquarters in Cascais, the partnership maintained strong momentum throughout. The adoption of GMS within Logoplaste plants was a challenge due to the ability of the teams to change the status quo. DevScope remained a close partner throughout this transition, rapidly iterating on user experience improvements and supporting factory-level adoption.

“We had a clear vision of what we aimed for, and we were very well advised throughout the full journey. When we needed to build something more versatile, DevScope helped us adapt. The result is a platform that grows organically with the business.”

IMPACT & RESULTS

From fragmented processes to a living operational ecosystem

Today, the GMS is live across all Logoplaste’s global factory network. Every factory uses every module. The platform processes thousands of events monthly: audits, quality incidents, safety reports, CAPA plans, and serves as the operational knowledge base that keeps the entire organisation aligned.

Standardisation at Scale

Audit templates created once are reused across all 70+ factories. When a new plant opens, it immediately inherits proven processes, dramatically accelerating factory onboarding and reducing compliance risk during ramp-up.

Structured Quality Management

Every non-conformity now follows a documented, auditable CAPA workflow. Root cause analysis and corrective action tracking are built into the daily routine of factory quality teams, replacing informal and inconsistent manual processes.

Centralised Operational Knowledge

Work instructions, procedures, and policies live in a single, version-controlled repository. Approval workflows ensure documentation is always current and that the right people review and sign off on updates before publication.

Scalable Foundation for AI & Analytics

Four years of structured operational data now exists in a single platform. Logoplaste and DevScope set the foundation for future analytics and AI-driven insights, to identify patterns in non-conformities and accelerate continuous improvement.

Faster Factory Ramp-Up

New factories integrate into the GMS from day one, with access to all audit templates, CAPA workflows, and approved documentation. Logoplaste can now grow its global network without sacrificing operational consistency.

GMS is part of the daily routines of Logoplaste. DevScope was up to the challenge, being a real partner during the entire process.

WHY DEVSCOPE

A long-term partnership built on adaptability and business understanding

The Logoplaste–DevScope relationship did not begin with the GMS. This is the third major platform delivered together, following a new corporate Intranet and an earlier digital initiative. That continuity reflects something more than technical capability. Logoplaste chose to bring DevScope back, project after project, because of the team’s ability to understand the business before building anything. DevScope engages at the right level of the organisation depending on the project phase: sometimes working directly with product owners, sometimes diving into technical architecture with engineering teams.

The GMS project ran through periods of intense change, including a global pandemic and factory expansion challenges. Throughout, the relationship between the two teams remained close, responsive, and genuinely collaborative.

There was a lot of proximity. Geography was never an issue. We would recommend DevScope to any industrial company with complex challenges, from the moment there is a clear business idea to be worked on.
